I like the suggestion that their chips are so good that it would be beneficial for your young child to sit in a massive pile of them, and also that you can tell it’s definitely not photoshopped by the grease stains on his jumper.

On a recent visit to the Kafka museum in Prague we were intrigued by this statue outside.

After a bit of investigating we discover that their hips swivel to write messages in the water, including a quote from Kafka: ‘Prague is beautiful but it has claws.’ There is a computer underneath, to which you can send text messages for the men to pee out.

The statues are the work of Czech artist David Cerny who explains them thus: “There’s a Czech idiom about ‘peeing over somebody,’ which I guess translated into English would be to ‘get one over on somebody.’ That’s what the peeing men mean. It’s the way our country behaves.”

When I was small, whenever I came across an unfamiliar word I was enouraged to make a note of it, find out what it meant, and then use it three times in conversation, so I fully understood what it meant. Now, I don’t come across so many words I don’t know, and if I do I usually ask the internet (often from my phone) and then completely forget them.

At the Kafka museum in Prague yeterday, with no internet to help me, I came across not one but two words I didn’t know. The first - entelechy - I have now discovered is not only

1. In the philosophy of Aristotle, the condition of a thing whose essence is fully realized; actuality.
2. In some philosophical systems, a vital force that directs an organism toward self-fulfillment.

but also a participatory arts company based in south east London.

The second word, sacristan - one who is in charge of a sacristy; a sexton - might be slightly harder to get into everyday conversation.

the amount of songs I listen to that contain the phrase "coast to coast" is unreal. Americans can't seem to get over the excitement of having two sides to a country!
